FAS of Russia Proposes to Abolish Antitrust Immunities in respect to Intellectual Property and to Fine for Employing Pricing Algorithms

Recently, the FAS of Russia has found the company guilty of illegal coordination of economic activities, including due to the fact that it used price algorithms to control prices of retailers. Now, the Agency proposes to formalize such practices in legislation. It insists that using price algorithms will not in itself lead to a fine — only if such use leads to illegal actions such actions will be deemed to constitute a violation.
