RUIE (Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs) Commission on Communications and Information Technology Considers It Necessary to Prevent Restricting Competition in Russia's E-Commerce Market
On April 11, 2017, the RUIE (Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs) Commission on Communications and Information Technology held a meeting on the need to respect the interests of businesses in protecting the rights of consumers who purchase goods and services over the Internet.

The meeting discussed the approach to regulating relations between commodity aggregators and consumers, proposed in draft Federal Law On Amendments to Law of the Russian Federation of February 7, 1992, No. 2300-1 “On Protection of Consumers’ Rights” No. 126869-7 (hereinafter, the draft law). Apart from the Commission members, the meeting was attended by representatives of the largest Russian online retailers and public organizations, the State Duma, Consumer Union of the Russian Federation, adviser to the President of the Russian Federation on Internet issues, Internet ombudsman. Denis Kosenkov, the firm’s managing partner, presented the legal position and assessment of the regulatory impact on the industry.
